It is an example of a highly targeted variant of ransomware. Once the system is infected, Ryuk encrypts certain types of files (avoiding those that are essential to the computer’s operation) and then displays a ransom demand.
3. Lapsus
This is a South American ransomware gang known for carrying out cyberattacks against leading companies and organizations. The group gained particular notoriety through high-profile attacks targeting major international corporations.
4. LockBit
It is a malware specializing in data encryption, active since September 2019. It operates according to the Ransomware as a Service (RaaS) model, which means that it is used by different cybercriminals who rent or exploit the tool to carry out attacks, while its developers receive a share of the ransoms.
5. Ransomware
It is software that uses encryption to prevent the victim from accessing their data until a ransom is paid.
